Lift Orlando welcomes two new leaders to its team

ORLANDO, Fla. - July 8, 2024 - Lift Orlando, a community development organization, is proud to announce the addition of two new leaders to its team: Christina Carrier as chief financial officer and Tara Gilbert as director of economic viability.

Christina Carrier brings more than a decade of experience in finance and accounting, with a track record of success in the nonprofit sector. Most recently, she served as vice president of finance at Lighthouse Central Florida & Lighthouse Works, where she played a pivotal role in growing the organization from 100 to 500 employees and revenues from $10 million to $28 million. Her expertise will be instrumental in shaping Lift Orlando's financial strategies and operations.

Tara Gilbert joins as director of economic viability, bringing a rich background in advancing economic opportunities for high-priority communities. Previously at STRIVE NYC, she established a coalition of partners to execute workforce development strategies at national and local levels. In this new role, Tara will forge partnerships with local organizations to advance job upskilling initiatives, support small businesses, and promote financial wellness for residents and business owners in Orlando's 32805 ZIP Code. She will also spearhead programming at the West Lakes Financial Wellbeing Center at the Heart of West Lakes Wellness Center, set to open later this year.

"We are thrilled to welcome Christina and Tara to our team," said Eddy Moratin, president of Lift Orlando. "Their arrival couldn't be more timely as we celebrate our 10th anniversary and expand our place-based work into Washington Shores/Lake Mann through the Choice Neighborhoods Planning Initiative. Their unique skill sets will be invaluable in driving our mission forward and benefiting residents and the community.”
