Lift Orlando is the honored recipient of a $2 million grant from Dr. Phillips Charities towards the construction of a new state-of-the-art Health and Wellness Facility in the Communities of West Lakes. Thanks to their support, a vital component of the $100M West Lakes Community Campus will soon become a reality.

"We are so grateful for the generous support of Dr. Phillips Charities, who since the founding days of Lift Orlando have believed in the potential of our mission and the promise of the Communities of West Lakes,” said Eddy Moratin, President, Lift Orlando. “This facility will embrace the entire neighborhood family by providing the resources necessary to foster a healthy community, advance financial wellbeing, and promote health and wellness. Since the 1950s the Dr. Phillips family legacy has championed quality healthcare for local Black families. This gift is a tribute to that heritage and an investment in the future generations of our community," continued Moratin.

This new Health and Wellness facility, a partnership of Lift Orlando, AdventHealth, Orlando Health and Florida Blue, is slated to be approximately 30,000-square-foot, two-story state-of-the-art structure and will be located at 726 S. Tampa Avenue. The facility will be a place for community residents to connect, learn, grow, and thrive.

“Dr. Phillips Charities is excited to be a part of Orlando’s efforts to increase access to quality health care and to promote health and wellness in the West Lakes Community” said Ken Robinson, President and CEO of Dr. Phillips Charities.  “We are honored to work with Lift Orlando not only with the construction of the Health and Wellness Center but also with helping build a healthy community for all Central Floridians,” he continued.

The West Lakes Health and Wellness facility will break ground this year with plans to open in late 2021. West Lakes Community Campus projects completed or underway include the mixed-income and affordable housing communities - Pendana at West Lakes and Pendana Senior Residences at West Lakes, The West Lakes Early Learning Center, Lake Lorna Doone Park renovations and the Jacqueline Bradley and Clarence Otis Family Branch - Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Florida.
